Course Goal / Objective

To teach advanced information about structures and reactions of İnorganic compounds

Course Content

Introduction, General aspects, structure of atoms (classical mechanics) , wave mechanics and quantum theory, periodic table and periodic, lewis structures, geometry, symmetry, properties, covalent bonding, other chemical forces, solids and liquids, acids and bases, redox systems, solvents, the isolation of elements, coordination compounds, stereochemistry in inorganic compounds, theory of coordinated bond, VBT, CFT, MOT, some properties of the coordination compounds.

LO01 have general and advansed degree knowledge about structure and reactions of inorganic compounds.
LO02 know the isolation methods of inorganic elements.
LO03 explain the bonding in inorganic compounds using differen bond theories.
LO04 Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the electronic structures and spectral properties of coordination compounds according to crystal/ligand field theories, and to discuss the relationship between solid-state structure and the industrial applications of inorganic materials.
