Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the environmental impacts of mining activities and to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to minimize these impacts through sustainable and responsible mining practices.

Course Content

Environmental impacts and mitigation measures of open-pit mining, underground mining, and mineral processing plants; soil pollution; water pollution; environmental impacts of acid mine drainage; impacts of active and abandoned mines; and post-mining environmental rehabilitation methods and applications
