Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge and awareness regarding art-based applications used in counseling processes. The course aims to help students recognize the areas of use of creative techniques, understand their functions in individual and group counseling settings, and gain knowledge about ethical boundaries.

Course Content

This course examines the theoretical foundations of art-based and creative applications used in counseling settings. The effects of art on emotional expression, communication, awareness, and psychological well-being are explored. Practical examples involving drawing, collage, metaphor, creative writing, photography, music, and drama are introduced for individual and group counseling contexts. Ethical principles, cultural sensitivity, and the limits of practice are also discussed throughout the course.
