Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to improve students' English speaking skills through the use of authentic materials drawn from real-life contexts. Throughout the course, students will engage with a wide range of authentic resources, including films, TV series, short videos, TED Talks, podcasts, news reports, interviews, advertisements, and social media content, in order to develop fluent, accurate, and effective communication skills. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to express themselves confidently in various communicative situations, interact effectively with others, develop intercultural communication awareness, and use English naturally and appropriately in authentic contexts.

Course Content

The course covers the development of everyday speaking skills through authentic materials, integrating listening and speaking practice. Major topics include: Natural conversational expressions Pronunciation, stress, and intonation Vocabulary development Idioms and phrasal verbs Small-group discussions Role-play activities Problem-solving tasks Intercultural communication Digital media content TED Talks Podcasts News videos Short presentations Speaking practice through digital tools AI-assisted speaking activities
