General Information
Department of Food Science and Technology was founded in 1970, and in 1994 it was named Food Engineering, Master program in Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences Food Engineering Department has been carried out. Processing and Evaluation of food raw materials under proper technical and hygienic conditions, optimization of production, process design, ensuring quality and reliability in food production, extending shelf life, evaluation of wastes / residues, food components, evaluation of nutritional value, quality and reliability of food by objective and sensory analysis methods conducts research and education on issues. There are 12 professors, 8 professors, 3 associate professors, and 1 assistant professors, all of whom are experts in their fields. In our department, there are 10 analysis and 4 research and application laboratories. Dairy products, wine, pickled olives, olive oil, jam, tomato paste, meat products, bakery products are produced in the pilot enterprises established for production. Graduates of our department are getting PhD degree in Food Engineering.

The main objective of the Department of Food Engineering is to provide students with the knowledge and ability to produce food that is beneficial, safe, nutritious and consumable to health. Other objectives include conducting research and organizing courses, seminars and conferences for food and related institutions and organizations.

Goals
The aim of the graduate program in Food Engineering is to enable the student to gain the ability to access, compile, evaluate and interpret information by doing scientific research in the field of Food Engineering.
Objectives
In order to meet the needs of the food industry in different fields, to become a prominent, respected educational and research institution at the national and international level which will enable the transfer of these studies to students, food industry and society through scientific studies in the field of food engineering.
Specific Admission Requirements
In this program, the students continue their education in graduate programs in their own field or related fields as a result of the evaluation of ALES, undergraduate graduation grade point and interview exam within the framework of "CU Master's Education and Training Regulation".
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded a Master's diploma.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
This program consists of at least seven credit courses with a total of not less than 21 credits, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis. Seminar course and thesis work are not included in the credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters). Provided that he/she is successful in the thesis exam, makes the changes requested by the jury, if any, and fulfills other conditions, the student who submits three more copies of the master's thesis, written and bound in accordance with the thesis writing rules, to the relevant institute within one month from the date of taking the thesis examination is awarded with a M.Sc.diploma.
Access to Further Studies
In this program, students who have successfully completed master's degree, Within the framework of the Ç.Ü. Graduate Education and Training Regulation, can continue education in doctoral programs in its own field or in related fields as a result of the evaluation of ALES, graduate graduation grade point average, foreign language score and a written and interview exam.
