General Information
The foundation of the Department of Matheamtics dates back to 1978, with the reqruitment of the first teahing staff member within the Faculty of Basic Sciences. It becomes a separate department with the foundation of the Faculty of Science and Letterts in 1982 and the first undergraduate students were accepted in the 1983-1984 academic year. In 2002 the number of the faculty reached 17. In 2003 some of the faculty established the Department of Statistics. Currently (2024 April) the department of mathematics is continuing research and teaching with 6 Professors, 5 Associate Professors. and 2 Assistant Professors and 3 Research Asistants.

Feature & Definition
The mission of the department of mathematics is to provide students with the opportunity to develop basic mathematics and mathematical ideas through compulsory courses, and to develop themselves in line with their career goals with a wide range of elective courses. In addition, our department provides a wide range of information to students with the help of the Erasmus and Mevlana program and with the cooperation of the Farabi program with the universities in Turkey. In addition to their mathematical development, various seminars, conferences and workshops are organized for students to improve their personal development and mathematical culture. In addition, the academic seminars organized within the department have the ability to provide students with the participation of national and international symposiums, to increase the communication of the students with the academic staff and thus to make the appropriate ground for the students and academic staff to work.

Objectives
The aim of the department of Mathematics is to educate students who have basic mathematics knowledge and to prepare students to do graduate studies. In line with this aim, our aim is to educate our students, who have basic mathematics knowledge, who can think independently, understand the given problem and produce different and original solutions to the problems they face, and make modern, comprehensive and abstract thinking graduates.
Specific Admission Requirements
Placement through a centralized National University Placement Examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.
Qualification Awarded
The students who have successfully completeded the program are awarded Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.

Access to Further Studies
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of "Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee", which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

The students of Mathematics Department have double major in Physics, Chemistry Statistics, Agricultural Structures and Irrigation departments and have the ability to do minor in Physics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering and Agricultural Structures and Irrigation Departments. Students studying in Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Eng., Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Statistics undergraduate programs have double major and minor branch facilities in the mathematics department. ...
Employment Opportunities
Graduates can be appointed as teachers by Ministy national Education (MEB). In addition to the opportunities to work as a teacher in primary, secondary high school education institutions, there are opportunities to work in banking and statistical institutions.
