General Information
French Language Education Department is one of the three departments of Çukurova University Education Faculty Foreign Language Education Department. The student quota of our department is 40. In our department, a one-year preparatory class and a four-year undergraduate program are carried out. Except for some courses in the undergraduate program of our department, the language of instruction is French. Students who have the right to enroll in our department take the proficiency exam, which is held in two stages, written and oral, and students who are successful in this exam gain the right to enroll in the 1st year. Students who are not successful in the exam, on the other hand, attend the preparatory class for 1 year, the purpose of which is to teach students basic French knowledge, and at the end, they are subjected to a proficiency exam, which is carried out in two stages, written and oral. Successful students enroll in the first year and start their 4-year undergraduate education.

Goals
French Language Teaching Department aims to educate qualified teachers, who adopt contemporary teacher training approaches, use various special teaching methods and techniques in their teaching, keep up with new developments and innovations in their field and who are able to design learning environments by means of instructional Technologies
Objectives
Producing and applying knowledge in its field, continuously improving oneself; providing solutions through scientific methods to problems concerning education, teaching and teacher training; being a department which is shown as an example with qualified teachers it has trained and of which people are proud to be a member and a graduate
Specific Admission Requirements
Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.
Qualification Awarded
The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the bachelor´s degree of French Language Teaching.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00
Access to Further Studies
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of "Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee", which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.
Internship
Final year students at French Language Teaching Department go for their teaching practice in institutions of secondary education in fall and spring semesters

Work Placement
Our students work voluntarily either for non governmental organizations (TEMA, LÖSEV, etc..) or for state institutions and organizations (retirement homes, pediatry units in hospitals, etc.)
Double Major, Additional Major & Exchange Possibilities
In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. This regulation also allows credit transfer between related institutions
Employment Opportunities
Our graduates can work as French teachers in public and private schools. They can occupy job positions offered by public and private sectors in French-speaking countries. They can also work in tourism sector
