General Information
Department of Mining Engineering, established in 1990, is a continually developing department. It accepted its first students in the academic year 1991-1992. The department is composed of three sub-branches such as Mining, Mine Mechanization and Technology and Mineral Processing. The students in the department are given training to decide whether any kind of energy, mineral and natural gas deposits over or underground is conducive to cost-effective processing, design the service areas necessary for the processing of the mines and process them.
Length of Programme & Number of Credits
4 Year - 240 ECTS
Feature & Definition
Mining Engineering can be defined as a profession that offers the mines found in the earth's crust for the benefit of humanity. In this respect, it covers many stages, from the discovery of mines, to the production and to the use of the produced ores. With its wide field of activity, mining engineering has become a position among other professional disciplines. Mining engineering, which is based on basic and engineering sciences, is of interest to many subjects such as rock mechanics, drilling-blasting, reserve modeling, excavation, production, transportation, ventilation, topography, ore enrichment, environment and waste management.
