Course Goal / Objective

To learn the general structure, molecular and genetic properties of a living organism, to understand the cell and its functions, to learn the metabolic reactions in the cell, to understand the basic principles of inheritance, to have knowledge about basic genetic and molecular genetic principles.

Course Content

General characteristics of living things, biomolecules, cell structure and functions, cellular energy and metabolism, structure of genetic material, proliferation and protein synthesis, basic principles of inheritance, cell cycle and cell division, mutations, DNA technologies, aging biology, genetic diseases, cancer molecular biology
