Course Goal
To teach the philosophy of intensive care nursing and care of the intensive care patient.
Course Content
History of intensive care units and responsibilities of nurses working in intensive care units; Nursing care in intensive care unit; Infection control in the intensive care unit; Recording systems in intensive care unit; Ethical principles and dilemmas in the intensive care unit; Patient safety and restrictions in the intensive care unit; Critical patient experiences; Training of the patient and his / her family in the intensive care unit; The effect of technological environment on patients and employees in intensive care unit; Complementary treatment methods in intensive care unit; The needs of the patient families in the ICU; Patient care in mechanical ventilation; Evidence-based practices in intensive care unit; Problems of intensive care nurses
