Course Goal / Objective
The purpose of the Environment-Focused Art course during the Spring semester is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of advanced practices and theories in environmental art. During this term, students will develop expertise in areas such as ecological art projects, performance and installation art, and artistic designs for public spaces. Additionally, the course will focus on the integration of digital and interactive media in art, sustainable art practices, and professional presentation skills. The overall goal of the course is to enhance students' ability to develop innovative and effective art projects that are responsive to environmental and social issues, and to implement these projects in engagement with the community. Through this process, students will enhance their artistic expressions and increase their environmental awareness.
Course Content
The Environment-Focused Art course in the Spring semester delves into advanced practices and theories of environmental art, focusing on the integration of art with ecological systems through projects such as bio-art and ecological interventions. Students will explore the design and execution of installation and performance art in various settings, including urban and natural environments, and will learn to create impactful public space art projects that encourage community engagement. The course emphasizes the use of digital and interactive media, such as virtual reality and augmented reality, to enhance the immersive qualities of art projects. Students will also develop sustainable art practices by utilizing environmentally friendly materials and methods, aiming to promote sustainability in art. Additionally, the course prepares students for professional exhibitions, enhancing their presentation skills and encouraging critical reflection and feedback integration to refine and evolve their artistic projects. This comprehensive approach aims to equip students with the skills needed to use art as a dynamic tool for social and environmental engagement, fostering a deeper connection between the community and the environment.
