Course Goal / Objective
Various problems arise due to the check, which is used as a credit instrument as well as a payment instrument in business life. Sanctions to be applied especially in case of bounced checks became a problem and many changes were made in the relevant legislation at short intervals. Finally, instead of the Law No. 3167, the Check Law No. 5941 entered into force. There have been some changes regarding checks in the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102, which entered into force in 2012. Check law is closely related to Banking and Obligations Law as well as Negotiable Documents Law. In this course, it is aimed to introduce the check law by addressing the changes in the legislation and the problems that arise in practice.
