Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable science teacher candidates to understand the research process and design scientific research projects in their own fields. In this course, students will learn the stages of problem identification, literature review, choosing a research design, preparing data collection tools, data analysis and report writing in practice.

Course Content

This course is designed to help pre-service science teachers understand and engage in the scientific research process within the context of science education. It covers key stages such as identifying a research topic, formulating research problems and sub-questions, conducting a literature review, developing a theoretical framework, selecting an appropriate research design, preparing data collection tools, adhering to ethical guidelines, analyzing data, and writing a research report. Throughout the course, students will develop their own research proposals and present them at the end of the semester. The course integrates both qualitative and quantitative research approaches and includes practical examples and applications specific to science education.
