General Information
The main dealing subjects of the programme are the organisms, such as insects and mites, abiotic and biotic factors (fungi, bacteria, phytoplasma, spiroplasma, virus, viroid and nematodes) and weeds causing economic losses to the cultivated plants. In that teaching programme, mechanical, physical, chemical, biological and biotechnological control strategies are introduced. The department has the sufficient requirements for the various plant protection activities. Modern equipped laboratories, almost 40 da research and applying area, greenhouse and chamber rooms enable researches to the entomology and phytopathology fields within the department

The programme is to provide the students the fundamental background on plant protection challenges in cultivation and reach the sufficient knowledge, evaluation and application to solve those challenges. The students learn to scan some literature,make research, evaluate and analyzed the results, prepare a thesis. The purpose of the programme is to have qualified workforce meeting the demands and wishes of public and private companies active in plant protection field and prepare academically proficient students to the PhD programme

Goals
The purpose of the program; First of all, it is to provide students with the necessary infrastructure in the field of basic agricultural engineering. Later on; The aim of the program is to provide students with the ability to give, evaluate and apply information about plant protection problems and their solutions, which are the main subject of the program. The program aims to obtain a qualified workforce that can meet the expectations and needs of public and private sector organizations operating in the field of plant protection and to prepare students with academic qualifications for the Master's program.
Objectives
Having the necessary equipment to identify the problems related to diseases, pests and weeds that are a problem in the field of plant health and to identify the factors, ensuring the correct application of control methods in the fight against plant diseases, damage factors and weeds, and evaluating the results; In cases where chemical warfare method should be used, able to prescribe pesticides that can be applied according to the instructions, transfer their professional knowledge to the relevant stakeholders of agriculture, have the ability to communicate with producers and implementing organizations, respect professional ethics, understand and solve the problems related to Plant Protection within the framework of legal regulations and regulations. The aim of the program is to train Agricultural Engineers who have the ability to develop methods.

In order to graduate from this programme, the students are required to successfully complete all the courses with a minimum average grade point of 3.00 out of 4.00

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
The student has to take 7 courses, 21 credits and 42 ECTS courses. The Thesis Program Summary is sent to the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences by the decision of the Academic Committee after the presentation of the student. The student who completes the thesis work defends his thesis in front of the jury selected in accordance with the rules of the Institute of Science and Technology.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and an adequate English language proficiency
