Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is one of the topics that has progressed rapidly in recent years and according to different sources, it is one of the important global trends in the next 10 years. Artificial intelligence and data science can be defined as an interdisciplinary science that can bring together different disciplines such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, software, system analysis and modeling; develop algorithms in the field of artificial intelligence, make applications, draw meaningful conclusions from data with statistical analysis and create their organization. This program is a master's program with thesis in this interdisciplinary discipline.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is a multi-disciplinary science and is fed by interdisciplinary interaction that brings together complex knowledge from different disciplines and enables the application of artificial intelligence approaches to decision problems in different sectors. Due to the need for different knowledge and approaches for different applications and the challenges of developing problem-specific solution approaches, it is important to develop AI engineering and data science technology in the country. In particular, the creation and dissemination of indigenous artificial intelligence models is one of the current challenges in the fields of natural language processing, machine learning, image processing and optimization. This situation increases the necessity to train and employ researchers specialized in artificial intelligence engineering and data science in the country. The main objective of the program is to bring together researchers who are lacking in this field and to produce problem-specific solutions by conducting research in this field and to transfer graduate-level experiences to young scientists of the future. Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is based on statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science and engineering science.

Goals
It is aimed for our university to participate in scientific studies in the world and in our country on the design and development of different artificial intelligence technologies and applications focused on different sectors developed in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, which remain popular and up-to-date in today's scientific world, and it is aimed to bring much-needed expert researchers and academicians to our country in these fields.
Objectives
The goal of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is to provide a balanced ratio of theoretical and applied knowledge to the students and to provide the first step in the training of expert researchers in this field. Graduates of this interdisciplinary program will have a wide range of knowledge and necessary skills and will be able to become qualified researchers needed by different sectors in this field. Especially the production of theses within the scope of industrial cooperation will increase the effectiveness of this department.
