General Information

Forestry Department, Vocatıonal School of Aladag, Cukurova University was established in 2012. 2014-2015 Academic year started the training. Forestry division contribute to intermediate employee which can likes to work in natüre, be adapted to the natural conditions, providing a contribution to the developments in the field of forestry, respond to the needs to employ in the private sector and the public. Graduate students who have successfully completed the "Pre- Degree" receive Forest Technician and so they have the work opportunity. Students of Forestry program are given theoretical and practical courses related to the field of undergraduate programs, also those students are required to successfully complete 30 workday to graduate from the program.

Forestry Department of Forestry and Forest Products Program; forest management, forest products, nursery techniques , wildlife , forest care and protection , introduction of forest products , production and marketing of medicinal and aromatic plants , solid and plate-shaped wood products, timber and derivatives, wood promotion and planning of renewable energy sources of the material and forest management plans in higher education is an issue that undergraduate education units . Students are required to take elective courses within the area constitutes a rate of twenty-five percent of the total of 120 ECTS curriculum . Practical courses , our school and our training activities as well as the laboratory , Pose Forest Management is carried out within the boundaries of the forest .

Goals

Management of Forests and Natural Resources Related to Forests, Forestation Activities, Marketing and Processing of Forest Products, and Infrastructure Services Required for the Construction of Activity Activities. The main objective of forestry is; Creation and development of systems to ensure the sustainability of natural resources and services. The forestry and forest products program grows the intermediate human power to work in the production, processing and marketing of forest products.

Objectives

The Forestry and Forestry Products Program aims to educate forestry and forestry professionals who can work together, take independent decisions, solve problems and take responsibility, and have basic knowledge and skills required by their profession.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted to this program with the placement result document given by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

To have a weighted average of 2 out of four (4) and a total of 120 ECTS.

Access to Further Studies

Students who graduate from the Forestry and Forest Products Program can transfer to the 4-year undergraduate programs of Forestry Engineering, Forestry Industrial Engineering and Furniture and Decoration Teaching, if they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and are successful.

Internship

The internship is done as a summer internship for 30 working days in the General Directorate of Forestry or in private sectors related to Forestry.

Graduates of the department can work in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Municipal Parks and many public institutions. In addition, the interest in qualified forestry and forest products graduates in the private sector is increasing.
