Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to enable students to explain the importance of nutrition, to have information about what needs to be done to eat healthy, to identify nutritional deficiency problems and to choose appropriate foods.

Course Content

The definition, importance and components of nutrition; high nutritional value foods; the diets of pregnant and breast feeding women; the harms of unhealthy nutrition; nutrition problems in children; appropriate foods for 0-6 aged children; preparation of menus for pre-school period; the health and hygiene rules in food preparation process.
