Course Goal / Objective
The objective of this course is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of ethical issues and scientific responsibilities in scientific research. Students will learn how scientific research can align with ethical principles and how to address ethical challenges in these studies. Additionally, they will assess the societal and environmental impacts of scientific research and understand the importance of responsible decision-making and being a responsible researcher in the scientific community.
Course Content
The relationship between science and ethics, ethical responsibilities in scientific research, research ethics and data accuracy, human rights and ethical boundaries, scientific manipulation and misleading results, ethical rules and the scientific community, environmental ethics and biotechnology, moral responsibility in scientific discoveries, ethical decision-making processes, scientific ethics and social responsibility, the boundaries of ethics and scientific progress, security, privacy, and ethical issues in scientific research, ethical violations in scientific studies and possible solutions.
