Course Goal / Objective

The Cinema and Psychology course aims to improve students' knowledge and skills by making sense of and relating the basic theories on the axis of film and psychology, and by providing them with different perspectives on images.

Course Content

The content of the Cinema and Psychology course consists of psychoanalytic theory, which can be associated with films and is one of the important theoretical structures in the field of psychology, and normal/abnormal behavior patterns that can be shaped in the personality/character axis of psychology and cinema. In this direction, representatives of the theories on which the course is based are also included in the course content. Thus, theories developed by important theorists such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Erich Fromm, Karen Horney, Erik Erikson, Alfred Adler and cinema are considered contextually.
