Course Goal / Objective

The general aim of this course is to enable prospective teachers to have knowledge and skills about basic concepts related to environmental education, the purpose, importance and history of environmental education, environmental problems, sustainable development and goals, environmental values and ethics, children and environment, approaches, programs and projects for environmental education, the role of teachers and stakeholders in environmental education, methods and techniques that can be used, planning and implementing.

Course Content

This course aims to introduce teacher candidates to the fundamental concepts of environmental education and raise awareness about environmental issues. Topics such as sustainable development, environmental ethics, and the child-environment relationship are covered. Approaches, programs, and projects related to environmental education are examined. The role of teachers and stakeholders is emphasized, while effective methods and techniques for planning and implementing environmental education activities are developed. The course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enabling participants to bring environmental awareness into the classroom effectively.
