Course Goal / Objective

It is aimed that the student develops sensitivity to social issues, perceives design as a tool for generating social benefit, develops projects in line with ethical and participatory design principles, produces creative solutions to real-life problems, and establishes social interaction through interdisciplinary collaboration throughout this process.

Course Content

Introduction to the concept of social responsibility and its relation to interior architecture; presentation of social awareness, ethical design, and participatory processes; analysis of current social and spatial issues; methods for developing projects addressing real-life problems; field research and user profile analysis techniques; collaboration with non-governmental organizations and local administrations; development of design proposals aiming for social impact; generating solutions based on principles of sustainability, accessibility, and equity; presentation of design proposals and feedback processes; reporting of project outcomes and evaluation of social impact.
