Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the mental processes involved in the production, processing, acquisition, and comprehension of language. Psycholinguistics helps students understand fundamental theories, experimental findings, and applications concerning the relationship between language and the mind. Students will explore how individuals acquire, produce, comprehend, and retain language in both first and second language contexts.
Course Content
This course covers how language is represented and processed in the mind, including topics such as language acquisition, word recognition, sentence processing, speech production, comprehension, memory, and attention. The course also explores the cognitive and neural foundations of language and the implications of language disorders on communication.
