Course Goal / Objective

Students are expected to gain knowledge about the physical and chemical properties of minerals and their groups, enabling them to identify and classify minerals in hand samples.

Course Content

Definition and history of mineralogy, physical and chemical properties of minerals, Native elements, Sulfides and sulfosalts, Oxides and hydroxides, Carbonates, Nitrates, Borates, Wolframites, Molybdates, Phosphates, Vanadates and Silicates.
