Course Goal / Objective
The course aims to develop a scientific perspective on the ecological and economic roles of invertebrates in aquatic ecosystems. It will provide comprehensive knowledge on their contributions to ecosystem functions such as nutrient cycling, habitat formation, and water quality regulation. Additionally, the course aims to raise awareness and provide knowledge on the economic value of invertebrates in industries such as fisheries, aquaculture, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, as well as global trade dynamics and their impacts.
Course Content
This course covers general descriptions of invertebrates, invertebrate diversity, distribution, habitat characteristics, and their ecological and economic roles in aquatic ecosystems. It also includes information on the current evaluation opportunities, global trade, and economic impacts of invertebrates.
